Hosted by Professor Owl, Disney's Sing Along Songs: Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah is the premiere release in the Disney Sing Along Songs series. It was originally released on VHS video on December 23, 1986 to promote the November 21, 1986 theatrical re-release of the 1946 film Song of the South. It was released in the UK in 1988. Back in the US it was re-issued on VHS video on August 14, 1990 as Volume Two in the Disney Sing Along Songs series. Again it was re-issued on VHS video on December 28, 1990, February 8, 1994 and once more on July 22, 1997. In addition, it was released on laserdisc as a double feature with Disney's Sing Along Songs: Heigh-Ho. Since VHS video has a horizontal resolution of 240 TVL lines for NTSC and laserdisc has a horizontal resolution of 425 TVL Lines for NTSC resulting in a sharper picture, the Disney's Sing Along Songs: Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah / Disney's Sing Along Songs: Heigh-Ho laserdisc is the best version currently available.
